Who we are

Skillyard is operated by Skillyard Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17323368, with its registered office at 93 Badger Road, Thornbury, BS35 1AB. Where these terms refer to "we", "us" or "Skillyard", they mean Skillyard Ltd. You can contact us at hello@skillyard.co.uk.

What Skillyard is

Skillyard is a directory. We list independent training and coaching businesses so that buyers can find them, and we let those businesses create and manage a listing. That is the whole of what we do.

We are not a party to any arrangement between a buyer and a trainer. We do not broker work, we do not sit in the middle of any conversation or transaction, and we take no fee or commission from any work that results from a listing. When a buyer contacts a trainer, they deal with each other directly.

Using the site as a buyer

Browsing Skillyard and contacting trainers is free, and you do not need an account. You are responsible for your own dealings with any trainer you contact. We do not vouch for the outcome of any training, and a listing on Skillyard is not a recommendation, guarantee or endorsement of a particular trainer beyond the checks described below.

If you save trainers to a shortlist, that shortlist is stored only in your own browser. We do not receive or store it. See our Privacy Policy for more.

Listing a business

To list a business you create an account and submit a listing for review. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of everything in your listing, including your business details, descriptions, contact information, logo and images. You confirm that you have the right to use any content you upload, and that your listing is not misleading, offensive, unlawful or in breach of anyone else's rights.

We review listings before they go live, and we may decline, edit or ask you to change a listing at our discretion. We may also remove or unpublish a listing at any time if we believe it breaches these terms or is otherwise unsuitable. Review helps us keep the directory trustworthy, but it does not make us responsible for the accuracy of your listing, which remains yours.

Subscriptions and payment

Listings are provided on a subscription. The standard price is £7.99 per month or £79 per year. Payment is handled by our payment provider, and by subscribing you authorise the relevant recurring charge until you cancel.

Founder members who join during our founding period receive a free lifetime listing and are not charged a subscription for as long as they hold that listing. This applies to the founder listing itself and does not create any wider entitlement.

You can cancel at any time. Payments already made are not refunded on a pro rata basis for the unused part of a paid period. When a subscription lapses or is cancelled, your listing remains live for a grace period of one week, after which it is unpublished. Your data is retained in line with our Privacy Policy so that you can reactivate later if you wish.

Your content and our use of it

You keep ownership of the content you put in your listing. By submitting it, you grant us the licence needed to display and promote your listing on Skillyard and in related material, for as long as your listing is on the site. You can edit or delete your listing at any time from your dashboard.

Things we don't promise

We work to keep Skillyard accurate, available and useful, but we do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted or error free, that a listing will generate enquiries or work, or that any information provided by a trainer is accurate. Trainers are responsible for their own listings, and buyers are responsible for their own decisions. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from any dealing between a buyer and a trainer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to let account holders know. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
